Grand Island Chamber of Commerce: Gold, platinum sponsors announced for Citizen of the Year Awards

Two Island companies will sponsor the upcoming Citizen of the Year Awards Dinner.

Niagara Frontier Publications will be a platinum sponsor for the 48th annual event. Financial Trust Federal Credit Union just took over the former Grand Island Community Federal Credit Union and is already getting involved in the Grand Island community by being a gold sponsor for the 48th annual Citizen of the Year Awards Dinner. Diana Fairbanks of the Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB-WNLO will serve as master of ceremonies.

She has anchored "News 4 Wake Up," "Winging It Buffalo Style" and "News 4 at Noon." In September, she returned to nights with Don Postles and Jacquie Walker for the news at 5:30 and 10 p.m. Fairbanks, pictured at right, is an Emmy-nominated reporter and 2013 Best Buffalo TV Personality. She graduated cum laude with Phi Beta Kappa honors with a bachelor's degree in American literature and bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland.
