Obit: Dale L. McCready

Dale L. McCready, 58, a longtime resident of Grand Island, died suddenly March 19, 2014.

Dale attended Grand Island High School and had accumulated several technical, electrical and mechanical certificates over the years. Dale had worked as a skilled maintenance technician for Niagara Lutheran Home. He was a licensed pilot and commercial tour bus driver.

Dale was born in Buffalo, Feb. 22, 1956, and lived most of his life on Grand Island where he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Dale enjoyed outdoor activities, including boating, flying, swimming, scuba diving, skydiving, jogging and working out. He was a general handyman and could be found working on projects with many of his friends and family everywhere. He loved to travel, visit friends and family and to go on cruises. He loved life and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Dale was the son of Wendell and the late Helen McCready; brother of Lynn (Jim) Watts, Lori Lowell, Denise (Mike) Rafe, Dennis and Karen McCready; longtime friend of Carol McCready; stepfather of Patrick Fekany; and survived by 12 nieces and nephews.

The viewing was held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, where funeral services were also held Monday at 10 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
