A cool start to springby niagarau

Although the past few weeks have not felt much like spring, no matter what weather Mother Nature brings, ice cream seems to be a telling sign that spring is in the air.
De-Dee's Dairy is now open for the season and the local community could not be happier to have the ice cream shop back in their lives. On March 21, opening day customers lined up outside in the 35 degree weather just to experience their favorite flavors.
De-Dee's offers all sorts of ice cream provided by Perry's. This season, three new flavors were added to the shop's already existing long list. The new flavors include Blue Moon, Toffee Coffee and Cocca-Nut Bliss. Each flavor is unique and has already been a hit with the customers.
De-Dee's employee Abigail Cappuccilli, who has been with the family-owned business for three seasons, said, "Cocca-Nut Bliss is my new favorite flavor; I have been recommending it all day!"
It is almost impossible not to see a familiar face as you walk into De-Dee's.
"Seeing the repeat customers every season is my favorite part about working here. We have so many customers where we see them walk in and we already know what they will be ordering," Cappuccilli said.
De-Dee's owner Bob Urso said, "Each spring our family looks forward to opening up De-Dee's and seeing all of the wonderful families that support us."
"I at least come to De-Dee's twice a week. The friendly employees and huge servings are what bring me back each time," said Taylor Fleming, a longtime De-Dee's customer. Fleming boasted, "Each time I get the same thing, Piece of Cake ice cream with extra chocolate sprinkles."
De-Dee's does so much more than serve ice cream to customers. The business represents a foundation in the community where families and friends come to make memories that will last forever.
As the temperatures rise, the demand for ice cream will go into full effect. With its towering high cones and friendly environment, De-Dee's is the perfect place to get the "scoop" on spring.
