The third and last group of the third-grade Newspaper Club at Huth Road Elementary School, under the direction of Angela Hamilton, began work after school on Wednesday. They had a visit from Island Dispatch editor Larry Austin, who gave the students copies of the Dispatch's 70th anniversary edition, which included a reproduction of the front page of the first edition in 1944. (Austin wasn't editor then.) Austin also provided the 18 reporters with their own professional reporter's notebook, the same one he uses on the job with the Island Dispatch. Austin then taught the reporters how to ostentatiously flaunt the notebook to advertise you're a professional reporter, the same way he does on the job with the Island Dispatch.
