Bob Koshinski, vice president and general manager of WBBZ-TV, has announced "Your Hometown Television Station" is seeking contestants to compete and play in the station's new game show, "Bragging Rights!"

The program is scheduled to debut Monday, June 9, and air every weeknight at 6:30 p.m. through the end of August. Buffalo Broadcast Hall of Famer John Di Sciullo will host.

Di Sciullo is also production and promotion manager for WBBZ-TV. Watch for special guests to help keep score.

"Bragging Rights!" will be an interactive quiz show, tailored to fit the classic theme of the programs that air on the MeTV network carried on the station. Teams will represent local hometowns, and could include volunteer firefighters, teachers, students and area celebrities. Contestants will compete for prizes, and the bragging rights of winning the game.

Teams and individuals interested in playing can go to www.wbbz.tv and click the "Bragging Rights!" box, and submit their information. Tapings of the game show will begin in mid-May.

"Our brand is about our hometown, and classic television," Koshinski said. "Games have been a part of the television landscape since the medium began, even locally with 'Dialing For Dollars' and 'Strikes, Spares, and Misses.' Our show will blend game elements while getting to know our hometown neighbors."

WBBZ-TV owner and Executive Producer Phil Arno added, "Of all the local programs we have produced, I believe bringing the community together to acknowledge them, and play a fun game together, will further identify us as a true local station."
