Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will be present with adoptable dogs this Saturday, March 1, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Pet Supplies Plus location at 2952 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. Dogs Angel, Blu, Kirby, Reba, Rudy, Simba and Snuggles will be on hand; photos and information on these and all their animals are available online at www.heartofniagara.org.

The public is invited to come and meet these animals and to find out more about the adoption process, animal care, and upcoming meetings and events.

Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. Volunteers have adopted out about 150 animals to date, and operate solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.

The group's next volunteer meeting is Wednesday, March 12, from 6-8 p.m., at The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston (upstairs blue room), 505 Cayuga St. Topics will include the recent "Heart to Heart" fundraiser, "A Taste of The Niagara Region," as well as plans for upcoming events.
