Scout Sunday (for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts) was celebrated at the 9 a.m. Mass Sunday, Feb. 2, at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road.

Scout Sunday marks the founding of the Scouts in the United States as Scouts go to their places of worship in uniform and help with the service.

At St. Stephen, some Scouts were honored with religious awards. From Cub Scout Pack 630, earning the Light of Christ medal are Eric Bartlo, Ben Cipollitti, Gavin Gomez, Perrin Huff, Peter Marston, Jacob Pangborn and Ty Spinelli. From Cub Scout Pack 630, earning the Parvuli Dei medal are Andrew Burke, Dante Calvaneso, Nathaniel Cohen, Robert Damon Jr., Tyler Gardner, Joseph Pawelczyk, Matthew Reynolds, Michael Romeo and Colin Wilton. From Boy Scout Troop 630, working towards the Ad Altare Dei Award, are Sebastian Bodkin, Jacob Eddy, Alex Melisz, Alexander Peters, Joseph Peters, Patrick Stouter and Stephen Stouter.

The religious emblem programs help Scouts explore a wide range of activities and discover the presence of God in their daily lives.
