Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County has announced its second annual Niagara County Fair logo contest. The theme of this year's contest is "A Good Thing Growing - Celebrating Niagara County Agriculture." CCE seeks to recognize, promote and celebrate farmers and their families, the produce they grow, the animals they raise, the beauty of their land, and their contribution to this community.

The contest is open to all Niagara County youth ages 5-19 years old.

New this year, the community will select the first-place winner. CCE will choose the top submissions to put to a community vote. Votes may be cast through Facebook, by mail, in person or by email. Voting by the community will open March 7 and close March 14.

The winners will receive:

First place: a $100 cash prize, two tickets to the farm-city breakfast (the fair's opening event), and two weekly fair passes;

Second Place: a $50 cash prize, two tickets to the breakfast, and two weekly fair passes; and

Third Place: $25 cash prize, two tickets to the breakfast and two daily fair passes.

The winning logo for the 2013 Niagara County Fair was submitted by Samantha Chilcott of Lockport, a 4-H member who attends North Park Middle School.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization. Net proceeds from the fair support CCE-Niagara County programming that benefits children, families, farmers, seniors and communities across Niagara County.
