Town of Niagara Supervisor Steve Richards made his open court appearance before the Hon. Christopher J. Burns in Buffalo's State Supreme Court in the midst of Wednesday morning's snowstorm. Burns reserved decision on motions made by Richards' lawyers until a later date.
Niagara County Justice Richard Kloch Sr., who had been previously in charge of the case, recently recused himself. Richards was indicted after a grand jury investigation brought about by Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman in which he was accused of using town property and employees for personal gain. Richards has vowed to clear his name.
