The New York State Department of Transportation today announced work is scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 27, on the rehabilitation of the Interstate 190 and NY Route 265 (Military Road) bridges over the Niagara Power Project in the Town of Lewiston. As a result, motorists should expect to encounter a right lane closure on Interstate 190 southbound in the vicinity of the Niagara Power Project. This lane closure will be in place for the duration of the project.

In addition, on Friday, Jan. 31, from approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., a lane closure will be in place on NY Route 265 (Military Road), in the vicinity of the Niagara Power Project. Traffic will alternate the use of one lane controlled by flaggers. Motorists may encounter delays as a result of this lane closure.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
