The annual Fairy House Festival will be held June 8

Artpark & Company is seeking schools, Scout troops, regional artists, community groups and families to create fairy houses for display at Artpark's annual Fairy House Festival. The popular event returns to Artpark Sunday June 8.

Schools, Scouts, families and community groups may enter houses into the "Fairy House Tour." Artpark will award cash prizes to the top three houses in the tour.

Families attending the festival can discover hundreds of tiny houses throughout the gardens and grassy areas of Artpark.

As a special part of every Fairy House Festival at Artpark, artist-created houses are exhibited in the Art Gallery. They will be display during the festival and then through June 27. The Buffalo Museum of Science will jury the exhibit and select a limited number of artist houses, including three cash prizewinners to be on display at the museum.

Fairy houses are small structures built from sticks, leaves, pinecones and other naturally found materials. Building guidelines and applications can be found here or at www.artpark.net. The application deadline is April 1 for the "Fairy House Tour," and April 30 for the Art Gallery exhibit (completed houses may be submitted at a later date).

Festival activities and details will be announced closer to the festival date. Tickets for the Fairy House Festival are on sale now ($5 in advance; $6 day of event), and can be purchased online at www.artpark.net, calling 716-754-4375/1-888-223-6000, or in person at the Artpark Box Office.

For more information on the Fairy House Festival and how to enter, visit www.artpark.net or call 716-754-4375.
