Advertising experts to offer reactions, opinions at Feb. 3 event

Let's be honest, since the beloved Buffalo Bills haven't made it to the "big game" since Clinton was president, for many, the Super Bowl commercials have long garnered more interest than the teams battling on the gridiron.

For the past five years, on the day following the Super Bowl, The Advertising Club of Buffalo has gathered the top experts in the Buffalo advertising and communications arena to analyze the most talked about ads from the previous evening.

This year, the "Uber Bowl" commercial review will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, at Cole's Restaurant, 1104 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo.

From Doritos to Chevy, pistachios to Pepsi - and everything in between - Western New York's top communications professionals will offer their take on the good, bad and ugly from the commercial breaks of the NFL's biggest event.

Commercials will be broadcast upstairs at Cole's on a 15-foot screen for "Uber Bowl" attendees to enjoy, offer their opinion, and ask questions of the experts.

One panelist may find a particular spot entertaining, another may find it degrading; that's what makes advertising so fun.

The panel of experts includes:

•Jordan Hegyi, owner and art director, Riveter Design

•Chris King, independent producer/director, CKProductions; co-director/image gatherer, Revolution Pictures

•Tom Merrick, senior partner and executive creative director, Eric Mower + Associates

•Kimberly Pentheros, art director, Gelia; Advertising Club of Buffalo board of directors member

The host and moderator for the evening is James Kurdziel, local comedian, writer and radio personality on 103.3-FM "The Edge."

Admission is $10 for Ad Club members and $20 for nonmembers.

Tickets available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/uber-bowl-v-tickets-10021274903.
