The New York Power Authority will hold its annual admission-free holiday events featuring the Festival of Trees through Jan. 4, 2014, and the annual "Deck the Halls" event, featuring photos with Santa, on Dec. 7, at the Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston.

The Festival of Trees features a display of Christmas trees adorned with energy-efficient lights and decorated for the season by local nonprofit groups along the Power Vista's glass walkway. It is an official stop along the Holiday Lights of Niagara Tour.

Activities on Dec. 7 will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include photos with Santa from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., refreshments sold by Boy Scout Troop 855 of Lewiston, crafts with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, as well as performances by the Harmonicoots of Western New York and the Niagara Experience Players. The event will also feature informational exhibits on energy-efficient lighting and tips on celebrating a green holiday.

Masons from the New York Masonic Safety ID Program will be on hand to provide parents, guardians, college students and seniors with free safety ID packets. Visitors who sign up will receive a compact disc, personalized with their digital photograph, fingerprints and other vital statistics.

The Parks Department will provide free rides on its Niagara Scenic Trolley between the Gorge Discovery Center and the Niagara Power Vista during the event.
