The Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee has set Jan. 27, 2014, as the deadline for submission of projects to be considered in the next round of funding.

The committee has approved 32 projects to date, totaling more than $11 million, toward the establishment of the Niagara River Greenway in Erie County. It is composed of one representative from Erie County, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the New York Power Authority.

The Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Fund Standing Committee receives funds from NYPA as part of the relicensing of NYPA's Niagara Hydroelectric Power Plant in 2007. During the 50-year term of the license, the Buffalo and Erie County Standing Committee will receive $2 million a year.

More information regarding the application is available at the Buffalo and Erie County Greenway Standing Committee website at
