The Historical Association of Lewiston has announced tickets are now on sale for the ninth annual Tour of Homes, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8, at select addresses in the Lewiston area.

Organizers report the theme of the 2013 tour is "Christmas Cottages in the Country." Five charming cottages and "The Main House" will be featured. Each residence has been decorated by one of Western New York's most notable designers and will feature at least two tablescapes offering inspiring holiday decorating ideas.

The event features a self-guided tour with trolley service to be provided from the Village of Lewiston Red Brick Municipal Building, 145 N. Fourth St., courtesy of Great Lakes Real Estate. Four trolleys will operate with continuous service between the Red Brick, the Barton Hill Hotel & Spa, and the featured homes.

In addition to the home viewing, ticket holders will be able to partake in dessert samplings and a cocktail reception at the Barton Hill Hotel & Spa. Attendees will be able to sample the sweets of the DiCamillo Bakery and the Village Bake Shoppe and enjoy a poinsettia cocktail, compliments of Supermarket Liquors & Wines and Wegmans of Niagara Falls. In addition, HAL's merchandise table will be on site, with a variety of exclusive Lewiston holiday gifts on sale including the association's 2014 calendar and its one-of-a-kind Frontier House ornaments.

Tickets, priced at $25, are available online at www.LewistonHomeTour.com or at the following Lewiston locations: The Orange Cat Coffee Co., 703 Center St.; The Village Bake Shoppe, 417 Center St.; and DiCamillo Bakery, 535 Center St. Any remaining tickets on the day of the tour will be available for sale at the Village of Lewiston Red Brick Municipal Building.

"The Historical Association of Lewiston is very grateful to those who are opening their homes for the tour," said Leandra Collesano, HAL president. "The fundraiser represents more than 40 percent of the Historical Association's operating budget."

She adds Chris Castellani of Lewiston, owner of Supermarket Liquors and Wines, has stepped forward once again as the tour's presenting sponsor.

"Castellani's generous spirit has given life to many worthwhile causes in the Niagara region," Collesano said.

In addition to Supermarket Liquors and Wines, nearly 60 other business owners and residents are sponsoring this year's tour.
