The Hard Rock Café and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will celebrate World Diabetes Day by "Rockin' Diabetes Away" on Friday at the Hard Rock Café, 333 Prospect St.
The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a diabetes wellness presentation by Mary Degnan, Memorial's director of nutritional services.
Welcoming remarks and a news conference will be held at 6:45 p.m., followed by a ceremonial diabetes awareness walk through Niagara Falls State Park. A party featuring music by High Horse, winner of the 2013 All WNY Music Award for Best Contemporary Band, will begin at 7 p.m.
World Diabetes Day is an international call to action promoting heightened awareness of the worldwide epidemic of diabetes. For more information, call 716-285-2382.
