Niagara Catholic Jr./Sr. High School began a Chinese language and culture program this school year in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of WNY, University at Buffalo and Hanban Agency in China. This partnership has allowed the school to sponsor a teacher from China for three years. Lifeng (Linda) Li joined the Niagara Catholic faculty in September.

Li comes to NC from Jiaozuo in the Henan Province. She is on leave from Jiaozuo University, where she taught English and reading. She is married to Zhenqjian Li and has a son who is 4 years old (Haoze Li). Li is now living in Lewiston.

Li is teaching Chinese language and culture at N.C. She teaches exploratory Chinese language/culture at the Catholic Academy of Niagara Falls. Students in both schools say they are excited about having the opportunity to learn Chinese and explore Chinese culture.

Li will be teaching an adult Chinese class for six weeks, beginning Jan. 8, 2014, at NC.

For more information about this program and/or Niagara Catholic, contact Maura Stack, director of enrollment, at 716-283-8771, ext. 260.
