Emily Belote and Jack Buddenhagen from Niagara-Wheatfield High School will be members of the 2013 National Association for Music Education All-National Honor Orchestra and All-National Honor Band, joining more than 670 musically talented high school students in the U.S. to perform at a gala concert on Oct. 30 in Nashville, Tenn.

"I am so proud of Emily and Jack for their selection to the All-National Honor Ensembles. It has been my privilege to work with such talented and dedicated musicians at the high school. Emily, who plays Bb and Eb clarinet, has been selected as the only Eb clarinetist in the Honor Orchestra, and Jack, who plays euphonium and trombone, will play trombone in the Honor Band," said Christine Riederer, Niagara-Wheatfield band director. "I am so excited that they get to work with some of the finest conductors in the world and get to meet other high school musicians from as far away as Alaska."

The concert band and symphony orchestra will each have approximately 150 instrumentalists, the jazz ensemble will have 20 instrumentalists, and the mixed chorus will have approximately 350 vocalists. Eligible students have qualified for their state-level honor ensemble program and competed against top students for a spot in these national honor ensembles.
