This is the second consecutive year a Niagara USA event has received this honor
The American Bus Association recently announced the Lewiston Jazz Festival was named as one of the "2014 Top 100 Events in North America." The Top 100 Events, published in the September/October issue of Destinationsmagazine, said the Lewiston Jazz Festival offers entertainment appealing to tour groups and travelers from around the world.
Deborah Duerr, director of tourism sales for the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp., submitted this event.
With the publishing of the 2014 Top 100 Events in North America, ABA celebrates 32 years of the program, making it one of the most substantial lists of events for travel professionals, motorcoach operators and the general public. NTCC has been mentioned on the coveted list two consecutive years in a row.
Last year, NTCC nominated the "War of 1812 Encampment" held at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown. Both of these events have had a direct effect on the local economy and the ability to produce tourism dollars.
The Lewiston Jazz Festival and the "War of 1812 Encampment" were both selected by an events selection committee from hundreds of submissions by ABA members. Judges select the events by appeal, the accessibility to support motorcoaches, and a variety of other details.
The Top 100 Events receive worldwide attention through television, radio and print such as USA Today and CNN. Also the ABA includes the Top100 Events in Destinations magazine, which is distributed to all of its members and to thousands of travelers worldwide.
"It is unprecedented that NTCC has achieved this honor for the second consecutive year, and we are elated to be recognized by such a credible organization," said John Percy, NTCC president and CEO. "This acknowledgement is invaluable and provides us a national stage to promote these products."

The 2014 Lewiston Jazz Festival will take place Aug. 22-23.
