Summit Life Outreach Center will hold a major fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6:15 p.m. at Antonio's Banquet and Conference Center, 7708 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls. Advanced tickets are encouraged, but walk-in guests are welcomed. Cost of the event is $35, which includes dinner and guest speaker, the Rev. Richard Poblocki, host of "Calling All Catholics" on WLOF (101.7-FM). Reservations can be made by calling Anne DesPres at 716-297-6687 or Dorothea Nortz at 716-745-7403.

The nonprofit center dedicates itself to helping women in an unplanned pregnancy situation. Its staff of peer counselors walk through a woman's pregnancy with them, supporting them with the freedom to explore their fears and the issues in their life that make their pregnancy a challenging experience.

Summit Life offers parenting education services to enhance the lives of young mothers-to-be, their families, and more importantly, life to their unborn babies. Summit Life has an "Earn While You Learn Program" which gives mothers an opportunity to earn credits that they can use to "purchase" materials such as maternity and baby clothes, blankets, diapers, formula and other needed supplies. The center also offers free pregnancy tests, confidential support and community referrals. All services offered through the center are free.

This is Summit Life's seventh year of service to women and families. Despite the progress of the center, assistance is needed from caring individuals and businesses to contribute the necessary resources to keep it running in the Niagara Falls community.

Those interested in learning more about Summit Life Outreach Center or volunteering their time may contact the center directly at 716-298-8600 or visit the website at www.summitlifecenter.com.
