Fans attending Friday's game are encouraged to arrive early

The Buffalo Sabres today announced they will host a "Party in the Plaza" for the team's home opener against Ottawa at First Niagara Center on Friday, Oct. 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The party, presented by Tops Friendly Markets, will take place in Alumni Plaza, located outside of the arena along Perry Street. The event will feature live music from The Informers, a local band. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

In anticipation of the opening-night crowd for the game, fans planning on attending Friday's home opener are encouraged to arrive early to ensure easy entrance into the arena. A pregame handout will also be distributed to fans as they are admitted into the game.

Traffic/Parking Reminder:

Parking for the event will be available in the surface lots surrounding the arena.

As a result of the construction for HARBORcenter, vehicular traffic is limited to one lane northbound (away from arena) on Washington Street and one lane southbound (toward arena) on Main Street. While there have been and will continue to be temporary road closures, no closures are currently planned during arena events.

Fans that plan on visiting First Niagara Center while the limited traffic routes are in effect should plan on using Michigan Avenue instead of Washington Street. It is strongly suggested that fans plan ahead and leave extra time for traveling to and from the arena.
