The seventh annual Dave's Memorial Dice Run benefit, held July 20, netted $3,019 for the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co.'s ambulance drive.

The dice run is in remembrance of Dave Quarantillo, who lost his life in a motorcycle accident Sept. 10, 2006, on Route 104 in Clarkson. A young driver turned his car into the path of three motorcycles, tragically ending Dave's life and injuring three other motorcyclists. A lifelong resident of Lewiston, Dave had been employed by the Town of Lewiston Highway Department for more than 30 years, and was just months away from retirement. He left behind a wife, daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons.

Pictured from the check presentation, from right, are Nicole Landers, Lisa Landers, Kelli Wilkesmore, Tim Quarantillo, Dennis Brochey, Jim Stone (RVFC president), Lorene Quarantillo (Dave's wife), Jen Duff (Dave's daughter), Pamela May, Darryl May, Cathy Brochey, Mike Dell and Matt Wedge (RVFC first assistant chief) and TJ Lisman (RVFC EMS captain).

Organizers thank all those who attended the event, and those that donated items to the basket and silent auctions. The committee has donated more than $21,000 to local charities in Dave's memory.
