Ceretto joins Cuomo to announce approval of Hamister hotel

Assemblyman John Ceretto joined Gov. Andrew Cuomo, State Sen. George Maziarz, Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster and other local officials today to announce the approval of the Hamister hotel project in downtown Niagara Falls. The hotel represents a $25.3 million investment in the future of the city.

Ceretto's camp said this is a major step to attract additional development to Niagara Falls and transform it into a world-class tourist destination.

"This was a very good day for Niagara Falls. The Hamister hotel project is a major win for the city and its residents," Ceretto said. "This approval means that jobs will be created in the construction of the hotel and in the opening of the hotel. I am happy for the people of Niagara Falls who will see great benefits from this project. This is a big step forward for the revitalization of Niagara Falls."

The Hamister project has been the subject of major controversy, as it has been held up by concerns from the Niagara Falls City Council. Ceretto made phone calls and worked with the governor and other public officials to bring all sides to the table. He was able to help reconcile the differences between the parties involved and figure out an agreement that brings jobs and economic development to Niagara Falls.

"Let's shine a light on the Hamister project and recognize that it is a beacon to draw additional development to the Falls," Ceretto said. "Gov. Cuomo identified this as a crucial project that is necessary to move the revitalization of Niagara Falls forward. When the governor saw the approval process floundering, he personally took action to save it, proving his commitment to making Niagara Falls a world-class tourist destination."
