Earth Voices celebrates Native American culture

Earth Voices of the Great Spirit will be held in conjunction with the Lewiston Harvest Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Lewiston Peace Garden, 476 Center St., Lewiston.

The celebration of traditional and contemporary Native American culture will be expressed through music, drumming, dance, arts, children's activities, demonstrations and storytelling.

The schedule includes: 11 a.m. Iroquois Marching Band; 11:30 a.m., Jay and Teresa Clause with history and storytelling; noon, drum circle with Jill Clause; 12:30 p.m. singer/songwriter Thomas Martel; 1 p.m. Neto Hatinakwe Onkwehowe Dancers; 2 p.m. Pale Face, with Mark Porter; 3:30 p.m. Joseph Michale Mahfoud & the Stevie Project.

Crafters include: 1 to 4 p.m., Rosie Hill with "Jitterbugs" and Simon Brascoupe, with stencils. Artists also include Penny Mt. Pleasant and Erwin Printup.
