Ceretto: Hamister deal good for people of Niagara Falls who need jobs, economic developmentby jmaloni
Assemblyman John Ceretto is applauding the tentative agreement to approve the proposal for a new hotel in downtown Niagara Falls. The Hamister Hotel project now will be able to move forward because Niagara Falls Councilman Robert Anderson Jr. announced he will vote in favor of the hotel deal.
Ceretto said he is happy for the residents of Niagara Falls, whom, he said, will now see more jobs and economic development as a result of this project.
"The pending approval of the Hamister Hotel deal is great news for the people of Niagara Falls. Although there were disagreements along the way, cooler heads have prevailed, and now we can move forward with this important project," Ceretto said. "The people of Niagara Falls, who are yearning for better economic prospects, have just seen a big step in the right direction. This project will bring long-term jobs and revenues to downtown Niagara Falls. Now, we can focus our energy on pushing for development in other areas and improving the City of Niagara Falls."
Ceretto has been working to win approval for the Hamister Hotel by working with Gov. Cuomo and local public officials to build support for the project. He is pushing for economic redevelopment projects in Niagara Falls, including the redesign of the Robert Moses Parkway and the commercial development of the Niagara waterfront.
