It might have rained on the Lewiston Kiwanis Peach Festival parade this year, but it was a good weekend for Wheatfield-area residents competing in Peach Festival contests. First, Alyssa Strangio, 5, of Wheatfield, won the Peach Blossom contest. She is in kindergarten at Errick Road Elementary. Peach Fuzz was William Mollosky from nearby Starpoint Elementary. Bridgette Ehrmann of Wheatfield was chosen as Miss Congeniality, while Kara Incorvia of Wheatfield received the Bright Star Award.
Alexandra Casale of Niagara Falls, a student at Niagara University, was crowned Peach Queen. Her court consisted of first runner-up Sarah Privitera of Niagara Falls, second runner-up Angela Gallo of Ransomville, third runner-up Jacey Diez of Lewiston, and fourth runner-up Abigail Nashwinter of Lewiston.
