The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present LehrerDance on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The performance is sponsored by M&T Bank. There will be a pre-performance talk at 7:15 p.m.

For the second year in a row LehrerDance, Buffalo's very own internationally touring professional dance company, kicks off the M&T Bank Dance Series with a trademark blend of artistry and athleticism. This year's performance will feature two world premieres: a full-throttle company piece, "Pantheon Rising," with original music composed by Buffalo native Damien Simon, and a romantic duet titled "Here in this Eden."

The new full company work, "Pantheon Rising," combines original music and elegant movement with celestial and mythological themes, bringing the LehrerDance style to new visual and artistic heights.

"Here in this Eden" showcases a couple entwined in a sensual relationship where they are the only two people on Earth, cherishing every moment together.

In addition, this year's program will include audience favorites "The Alliance," "Murmur," "Skeletons," and the return of "Instinct," a gymnastic male duet that has not been performed in Buffalo since 2010.

This performance begins a season of international touring for LehrerDance. On Oct. 29, the 6-year-old company will embark on a three-week, 15-city European tour bringing dancers to Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In December, LehrerDance returns to Vladivostok, Russia.

Tickets for LehrerDance are $28.50 (general admission) and $13.50 (students from any school). They are available at the UBCFA box office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and tickets.com.
