Efficient transit is essential to the health and success all cities. In addition to providing an environmentally sustainable way to connect citizens to jobs and personal destinations, transit is being rediscovered as a powerful tool for stimulating economic development.
Citizens for Regional Transit has joined the environmental studies department at Canisius College to present a conference to explore transit needs and opportunities in Western New York. The conference will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Montante Cultural Center on the Canisius College campus.
Presentations and discussions run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and are followed by an optional bus tour of the future airport light rail corridor with stops at the DL&W and Central Terminals.
