Thousands enjoy Lewiston Art Festivalby jmaloni
The weather was perfect and the art exceptional as record crowds descended on the Village of Lewiston last weekend for the holding of the 47th annual Lewiston Art Festival, presented by the Lewiston Council on the Arts.
Highlights included two Lewiston-Porter High School student teams taking second- and third-place honors, respectively, in the KeyBank Chalk Walk Competition held Saturday; and throughout the weekend the juried festival featured an impressive array of eye-catching pieces - numbering more than 20,000 and in various genres - much to the delight of visitors.
Add to that some entertaining street musicians, exceptional food offerings and artistic flare in abundance, and it's easy to see how many rate this festival as among the best of its kind on the Western New York scene. (photos by Wayne Peters)
