The Niagara University women's basketball team has announced the non-conference portion of its 2013-14 schedule. Niagara plays two Big Four contests and travels to take on the Atlantic Coast Conference's Syracuse Orange.

The Purple Eagles begin the season at home when Lehigh University comes to campus on Nov. 8. NU then plays the next two contests on the road as it travels to take on Bowling Green on Nov. 15 before playing rival St. Bonaventure on Nov. 19.

Niagara returns home on Nov. 23 to face Binghamton, a team it beat on the road, 63-57, in 2012 after holding on to a lead late in the fourth quarter.

Two road games a week apart are next on the bill as the team ends November with a game at Oakland on Nov. 27, and it brings in December with a game at Kent State on Dec. 4.

The last three games alternate home and away contests as the Purple Eagles come back to the Gallagher Center to take on new assistant coach Kyle Hejmowski's former team, Robert Morris, on Dec. 16. The final road game of the non-conference season is Dec. 19 when the team heads to Syracuse to take on the Orange. The final game before the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season comes on Dec. 21 against Big Four rival Buffalo at 1 p.m.

Niagara is led by head coach Kendra Faustin, who enters her seventh season as bench-boss on Monteagle Ridge. Meghan McGuinness, who averaged 9.6 points per game last season, is the top returning scorer.

All game times, with the exception of the Buffalo game, are to be announced. This season, Free Fridays have been replaced with a buy-one-get-one promotion where fans can gain free entrance to any women's basketball home game with a purchased ticket from a prior game.
