Oakwood Cemetery announces photo contest awards

Oakwood Cemetery, 763 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, will announce the "Summer at Oakwood" photography contest awards on Saturday, Aug.17, at 10 a.m., inside the Earl W. Brydges Library, 1425 Main St., Niagara Falls. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. Adults and children are invited.

The "Summer at Oakwood" photography contest is part of the Oakwood University Shutterbugs Workshop Series, which is held throughout the year at the cemetery. The contest focuses on photo interpretations by the artist of selected sites within the cemetery grounds.

The awards presentation includes a PowerPoint of all entries followed by certificate of recognition and cash prizes to the winners. Officiating judges are nationally acclaimed Niagara Gazette photographer James Neiss, and local award-winning photographer Tim Maloney (Friend of Oakwood member).

All contest entries will be on display in the first floor library show cases during normal library hours (from Aug. 12 through Sept. 6).
