From Sept. 20-22, the Sisters of St. Francis of Stella Niagara will open the doors and invite the public to join them for a weekend of retreat and reflection at their motherhouse: Stella Niagara.

Stella Niagara, "Star of the Niagara," has been home to the sisters for more than a century. The 134-acre campus is a "Peace Site," with a nature trail, outdoor Stations of the Cross, labyrinth and the river chapel. Amid the beauty of this region, participants will have opportunities to share stories and history and explore how the Franciscan spirit has been present in their lives.

The registration fee of $250 includes accommodations and meals at the Center of Renewal on the Stella Niagara campus. The program will begin on Friday, Sept. 20, with the gentle and humorous guidance of Father Tom Hartle, OFM, and Sister Colette Rhoney, OSF, reflecting on the spirits of St. Francis, St. Clare and Magdalen Damen, the congregation's foundress, and their relevance in the world today.

Plenty of time will be provided for rest and relaxation. The weekend will close on Sunday afternoon after a morning Eucharistic celebration and a brunch with the sisters.

All are welcome for this weekend of rejuvenation and exploration of the Franciscan spirit within. Contact the office of advancement for registration information: 716-754-2193 or [email protected].
