'Discovery Gala & Auction' aids History Center

The History Center of Niagara is preparing for a special summer evening dining al fresco in historic downtown Lockport within sight of the Erie Canal on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Guests at the annual "Discovery Gala & Auction" will be treated to cuisine catered by the award-winning, Shamus Restaurant. There will be a live and silent auction of antiques, paintings by regional artists, themed baskets as well as several spectacular entertainment and dining packages and sports memorabilia.

Auctioneer is Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour. Music will be played throughout the evening by the Buffalo jazz ensemble, Pro Bono.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $50 and can be purchased at the Discovery Center, 24 Church St., Lockport. For more information, call 716-439-0431.
