UL to highlight online safety as part of its "Safety Smart" program in 20 markets

Radio Disney, the No. 1 radio network for kids, tweens and families, is hosting its second annual "Back To School Drive" benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs of America's "Tools for Back-To-School" campaign.

Throughout August and September, Radio Disney stations across the country will hold local events inviting kids and families to donate school supplies to support their local Boys & Girls Clubs. Part of Radio Disney's Project Family initiative that inspires families to take action and make a difference, the nationwide events will support Boys & Girls Clubs of America's efforts to prepare the nearly 2 million club members with the tools necessary to be successful and build a brighter future.

Underwriters Laboratories, a global safety organization that works to promote safe living and working environments for people everywhere, will highlight online safety messages as part of 20 local market events. The UL "Safety Smart" series empowers youth to make smart decisions at home, school and throughout their communities.

In addition to the local events, kids and families can also participate by: playing the Disney-sponsored "Supply Drive Game" to help unlock 40,000 school supply kits for Boys & Girls Clubs kids; making a school supply donation at their local Disney Store through Sept. 3; texting to donate (text the word FUTURE to 80888 and reply YES to donate $10 to the BGCA back-to-school program); or by joining with Disney Friends For Change to host their own supply drive in their local community.

Radio Disney's Project Family Back-to-School supply drive is in collaboration with Disney Friends for Change, an initiative that inspires kids and their families to make a lasting, positive change by helping people, communities and the planet.

Disney has a long history with Boys & Girls Clubs of America that spans more than 50 years. Through financial and in-kind contributions, and through the time and talent of its Disney VoluntEARS, the company supports the Boys & Girls Club mission of helping young people reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

Radio Disney's "Back To School Drive" events will feature music, interactive entertainment and prizes hosted by the local Radio Disney Road Crews.
