Michael Johnson, Town of Lewiston finance director and long-time community leader, has announced his candidacy for the Town of Lewiston supervisor on the Democrat Party line. He is well regarded for his work with members of all political parties for the benefit of the Lewiston residents.

"I have worked closely with the supervisor and the board to manage the town's finances for the past four years," Johnson said. "During that time, I was able to lower the town's insurance costs and office supplies, as well as work diligently with the department heads to purchase items through competitive pricing and conservative procurement policies by reviewing the contracts and purchases. This was all accomplished while providing the same quality services the residents of Lewiston well deserve. I am choosing to run for supervisor because I have a sound understanding of the town's finances and the importance of fiscal responsibility. It is important to continue with the conservative policies that we have implemented."

Prior to becoming finance director, Johnson served as town councilman for 14 years, gaining valuable experience in the operation of town government. Over his terms, he has been a liaison to all departments and served as police commissioner in the later years. He has proven that he can work with local governments and the community, and he has a good relationship with state and federal representatives.

Johnson is also experienced in the private sector, where he has worked as a real estate broker for more than 37 years. He owns his own business, Johnson Appraisal Company, and he is an associate broker with Realty USA. His community involvement includes: financial secretary for the Knights of Columbus; member of the Loyal Order of the Moose; the 3F Club; and serving an usher at St. Peter's R.C. Church.

Johnson served this country in the U.S. Air Force with the 914th Air Wing at the Niagara Falls Air Base. He has two daughters and three grandchildren who live in Lewiston. He resides in the Village of Lewiston. He is the son of Donna Johnson, who is co-chair with Sue Ehmke for his campaign.
