Dinner benefits the hungry and homeless of Niagara County

Community Missions of Niagara Frontier will hold its third annual lobster fest on Thursday, Aug. 15, at the LaSalle Yacht Club in Niagara Falls.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. and continue to 8 p.m. or until the lobster runs out. Tickets are $50 per person and include a whole lobster, clam chowder, sides, dessert, and two free drink tickets (beer, wine or soda). A steak alternative is available upon request prior to the event.

In addition to dinner, the evening will feature a basket auction, 50/50 split, a raffle, and live music from Tom Keefer and Celtic Cross.

All event proceeds will benefit the missions' crisis services programs, which include the community kitchen, homeless shelter, clothing closet and food pantry. This signature event will assist in continuing to provide food and shelter to the neediest neighbors of Niagara County.

In addition to purchasing tickets, basket/prize donations and sponsorship opportunities are also available and greatly appreciated. For more information on how to become a sponsor, donate or purchase tickets, contact Andrea Gray at 716-285-3403, ext. 2225 ([email protected]).

Since its founding in 1925, Community Missions has provided a unique blend of referral, crisis, community support, and residential services for youth and adults. In 2012, the missions' crisis services programs served more than 70,000 meals, provided crisis housing to more than 600 individuals, and provided more than 9,000 nights of care to neglected or abused children and homeless adults.

Community Missions is located at 1570 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls.
