Old Falls Street, USA, will host three more lectures and book signings for the summer for 2013. The events are scheduled on Wednesdays at 2 p.m., at Old Falls Street's Wi-Fi Café area, closest to Niagara Falls State Park. The lecture series features local authors, who will speak on a variety of topics and sign copies of their books.

In case of inclement weather, the lectures will be held in the neighboring Barnes & Noble store, located inside the Culinary Institute Niagara Falls.

The remaining schedule of lectures includes the following:

•Aug. 7 - Tom Registad, author of "Scriblin' For a Livin' - Mark Twain's Pivotal Period in Buffalo"

•Aug. 14 - Nancy Rizzo, author of "Speaking Your Truth"

•Aug. 21 - Chris Stoainoff - co-author of "Niagara Falls 1850-2000"

Afternoons also feature "Backyard Board Games," giant versions of popular games such as chess, checkers and other trademarked favorites, offered free of charge on Old Falls Street's middle block (11 a.m to 4 p.m. each day, with extended hours during certain evening events). Guests are encouraged to borrow traditional chess, checkers and backgammon games from Old Falls Street's vending carts, located at the Wi-Fi Café, each Wednesday through Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This additional programming complements Old Falls Street's other weekly activities, which include visits by Encounter Niagara's historical re-enactors; the "Flicks on Old Falls" movie series on Thursday evenings; the "Fridays on Old Falls" evening concert series; and the "Jazzy Sundays" afternoon concert series.

Other returning favorites are the annual "Touch-a-Truck" family event where children are able to sit inside several emergency and maintenance vehicles, on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. The summer season ends with the ever-popular Niagara Falls Blues Festival. Celebrating its sixth year, the Blues Festival will be held on Labor Day weekend (Aug. 31 through Sept. 1).
