Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will be on site with adoptable animals this weekend at "Run for Rover 5K Run and Pet Walk." The family-friendly event will take place Sunday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at LaSalle Park in Buffalo. It will help raise needed funds for Pet Emergency Fund, a nonprofit charity that provides a safety net for financially strapped families in Erie and Niagara Counties who cannot afford emergency medical care for their pets.

Heart of Niagara will be there in support of the rescue's veterinarian, Dr. Kristen Ruest of The Village Vet of Lewiston.
