Niagara River Anglers Association smallmouth bass contest is July 27

The Niagara River Anglers Association announces its annual Niagara River smallmouth bass contest will be held Saturday morning, July 27, at the Lewiston Landing.

Open to the public, entry fee is $30 and includes two cash raffle tickets. A hot dog/hamburger picnic follows the weigh-in at Lewiston Landing. Contest awards and raffles will take place at 3 p.m. under the big tent at the NRAA Nature Preserve at 1000 Balmer Road in Porter. First place is $1,000; with a $200 cash prize for the biggest fish caught by an NRAA member.

In addition, a cash bash with a 100 percent payout is being offered for the biggest fish, and cash raffles of $25, $100 and $50 will also be offered.

NRAA notes you do not have to be a member or a contestant to attend the picnic/raffle. A $5 donation is appreciated. The event includes prizes for adults and the kids; bring the family and enjoy the afternoon at the NRAA Nature Preserve. Bring your fishing pole; the NRAA pond is full of fish.
