Buffalo Philharmonic's 'Celebration of Music at Canalside' features two full days of music

This weekend, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra partners with multiple musical groups to present two days of free music and family activities at Canalside Buffalo.

The event kicks off at 1 p.m. each day. On Saturday, groups such as the Buffalo Chamber Players, the African-American Cultural Center Dance and Drum Performance Troupe, and Sal Andolina's Jazz Quintet will perform. Saturday's main event is a free Broadway-themed concert with the BPO, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, and husband-and-wife Broadway stars Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard. On Sunday, the focus is on families. Three members of the orchestra will be on hand to answer questions about performing, and a superhero-themed concert will take place at 3 p.m.

Up to 30 minutes of video may be captured, and up to three minutes of one work or five minutes total of multiple works may be used for news.
