This weekend, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra partners with multiple musical groups to present two days of free music and family activities at Canalside Buffalo.
The event kicks off at 1 p.m. each day. On Saturday, groups such as the Buffalo Chamber Players, the African-American Cultural Center Dance and Drum Performance Troupe, and Sal Andolina's Jazz Quintet will perform. Saturday's main event is a free Broadway-themed concert with the BPO, Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, and husband-and-wife Broadway stars Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard. On Sunday, the focus is on families. Three members of the orchestra will be on hand to answer questions about performing, and a superhero-themed concert will take place at 3 p.m.
Up to 30 minutes of video may be captured, and up to three minutes of one work or five minutes total of multiple works may be used for news.
