Calling all plein air artists

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village invites all plein art artists to visit from Tuesday, July 30, to Sunday, Aug. 4. Just bring in your tools of choice, whether they are pen and ink, pencils, pastels, oils or watercolors, to gain free admission. In the village, there are hundreds of stunning views to be captured in our the installed gardens or with the unique historic structures that date from the 1830s to the 1890s.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; and Sunday, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. If friends and family want to visit the village, it offers historical demonstrations daily. Admission rates are $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Registration is not required, but highly recommended if you have a specific view you would like to capture. Call to reserve your prime painting spot. Contact Jaime Brawdy at 716-689-1440, ext. 7712.

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (formerly Amherst Museum) is located at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, corner of New Road, in Amherst, midway between Buffalo and Niagara Falls. The museum is just minutes from I-990 or Millersport and Transit Road. Visit the Museum at www.bnhv.org.
