Not only did the Island have fireworks July 4, but a private fireworks display will take place Saturday as well.
The Grand Island Town Board approved Monday two separate applications for public displays of fireworks. The town's annual display was approved for 10 p.m. July 4 at Martin's Fantasy Island. Another fireworks display will take place on July 6 at the Holiday Inn Grand Island, 100 Whitehaven Road.
Skylighters of NY, the same company approved for the July 4 fireworks display at Martin's Fantasy Island, will also present a fireworks display at a wedding at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn show will run sometime between 9 and 10 p.m. and last for 20 minutes.
