Memorial names two to behavioral health posts

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has appointed two new clinical managers in its inpatient behavioral health unit. The appointments were announced by Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer Joanne Krolewski, R.N., B.S.N.

Ronald Jozwiak, R.N., B.A., has been appointed director of Inpatient Behavioral Health. A registered professional nurse with nearly 40 years of hands-on experience in fast-paced hospital environments, Jozwiak is a graduate of Trocaire College and the State University at Buffalo. His background includes 16 years as a behavioral health nurse manager at Buffalo General Hospital, where he supervised four inpatient psychiatric units as well as the psychiatric emergency room.

Jozwiak most recently served as program director for Acute Medical Rehabilitation at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, where he was responsible for clinical outcomes, budgeting, strategic planning, program development and day-to-day operations.

Debra Boyne, R.N., has been promoted to clinical coordinator for Inpatient Behavioral Health. Boyne, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University, has been a staff nurse in Memorial's inpatient behavioral health service since 1984 and a staff nurse at the Buffalo Veterans Administration Medical Center since 2008.

She has wide-ranging experience, including supervisory experience, in all phases of inpatient behavioral health care and has worked extensively with military veterans.

Memorial's inpatient behavioral health service provides stabilization and multi-disciplinary treatment that includes medical care, social work, rehabilitation therapy and peer advocate support services along with referrals for outpatient care.
