Oakwood Cemetery Association, 763 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, one of the oldest cemeteries in Western New York, has announced it was recognized for its Outstanding Preservation Project by Preservation Buffalo Niagara. The OCA was honored at the fifth annual Preservation Awards Ceremony and Luncheon, held recently at Kleinhans Music Hall.

A rededication ceremony of the mausoleum will be held on Aug. 3, during the Oakwood Cemetery "Celebrates the 100th anniversary of the EB Green Mausoleum: Angels of Oakwood" fundraiser.

"We are very pleased to be recognized for our efforts," said Oakwood Cemetery Board of Directors President Whitney Mallam.

Laurence G. Steele, cemetery administrator added, "We have been working hard to polish this crown jewel in Niagara's history, and it's wonderful for the cemetery, the volunteers and the workers to honored with this award. Thank you Preservation Buffalo Niagara."
