The New York State Destination Marketing Organizations (formerly the New York State Association of Conventions and Visitors Bureaus), recently announced the appointment of John Percy as president. Percy serves as president and CEO of the Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp.

Outgoing President Peggy Coleman, president of the Steuben County Conference & Visitors Bureau, said, "John's willingness to transition to president of the NYSDMO ahead of schedule is a testament to his leadership. In just five short months, he has already increased cooperation with the NYS Division of Tourism by spearheading the 'I Love New York' meetings partnership, which has resulted in increased investment in marketing and advertising to the meetings and conventions market for our state."

"It is a tremendous honor to serve as president of the New York State Destination Marketing Organizations," Percy said. "I am looking forward to representing Niagara USA and working collaboratively with our statewide partners to encourage visitation, and convention and conference options across the broad spectrum that is New York state."

He is currently on the board of directors for the American Bus Association, Great Lakes Seaway Trail, Canal New York, Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce and the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area Commission. In addition, Percy was recently named chair of the Tourism Implementation Council, a subcommittee of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Western New York Regional Economic Development Committee, which is designed to develop long-term strategic plans for economic growth in the region.

The mission of the Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp. is to expand the economic prosperity of the Niagara USA communities by generating individual and group visitation. The NTCC is the tourism promotion agency and full-service destination marketing organization that serves Niagara County.
