67th Annual Tony Awards posts across-the-board growth

Awards show up 20 percent in viewers to its largest audience since 2009

The 67th Annual Tony Awards posted year-to-year growth in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sunday, June 9.

From 8-11 p.m., The Tony Awards was second in households (4.7/08), viewers (7.24m), adults 25-54 (1.6/04) and adults 18-49 (1.2/03). Compared to last year's event, CBS was up 21 percent in households (from 3.9/07), 14 percent in adults 25-54 (from 1.4/03), 20 percent in adults 18-49 (from 1.0/03) and added 1.23 million viewers (from 6.01m, up 20 percent). The Tony Awards posted its largest audience since 2009.
