Despite persistent efforts to wait out Mother Nature, it was not to be, as the management of Ransomville Speedway was forced to cancel the racing program on Friday. Heavy rains on Thursday followed by a constant morning drizzle resulted in saturated grounds at the Western New York half-mile.

The racing program slated for June 7 has been rescheduled for Friday, June 14. On tap includes the VP D98 Sportsman challenge $1,000 to WIN 50 plus twin 20s for the Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, plus a full program of Mighty Taco Modifieds and Gippster's Collision 4 Bangers. The rain checks from May 31 will be honored on June 14. The United Way benefit scheduled for June 7 will be held on June 21 - the rain date listed on the tickets.

While Mother Nature continues to plague the entire northeast's racing community, there is still plenty of excitement ahead at the Big R. In just four weeks, the fourth annual "Battle at the Border" will take center stage. The 75-lap main will serve as a stop on the 358 Modified SDS sled and will pay $5,000 to the winner. Slated for Wednesday, July 3, this event is set to attract many outsiders looking to take on the very stout Mighty Taco Modified field. The Sportsman SDS will join the 358's on this night giving fans a treat - a dual DIRTcar Series card.

On Friday, Aug. 16, the 29th annual Alex Friesen Summer Nationals will pay $13,000to the winner. This 100-lap event is a must attend for drivers and fans. Those expected to invade include Danny Johnson, Alan Johnson, Billy Decker, Stewart Friesen, Larry White and more. The Investor's Services Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stocks, and Gippster's Collision 4 Bangers will fill the card.
