Kick off summer with 'Fitness in the Parks'

YMCA Buffalo Niagara is pleased to once again team up with Independent Health to offer "Fitness in the Parks." This free community exercise program allows participants to enjoy the Buffalo weather without having to skip a workout.

New this year are two new programs at Canalside, and two additional park locations helping to expand program offerings into Niagara County.

Offered June 2-Aug. 31, "Fitness in the Parks" will take place at eight convenient locations throughout Western New York: Bassett Park (Amherst), Canalside (Buffalo), Delaware Park (North Buffalo), Cheektowaga Town Park (Cheektowaga), Chestnut Ridge Park (Orchard Park), Main Street Park (Clarence), Artpark (Lewiston) and Ellicott Creek Park (Tonawanda).

Programming includes Pilates, Zumba, tai chi, cardio dance, boot camp, and yoga, with each class running for 60 minutes. New this year at the Canalside location is family recess on Sunday afternoons and "Walks Along the Waterfront" on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at lunchtime. Certified YMCA instructors teach all classes. No registration is required.
