Community Missions host biannual event with YWCA

Community Missions of Niagara Frontier and the YWCA of Niagara are joining forces to host an upcoming art auction on Friday, June 7, at the Sheraton at the Falls in Niagara Falls. The event will raise money and awareness for the marginalized populations both agencies serve in Niagara County.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a preview of the artwork, hors d'oeuvres, a chocolate fountain, a cash bar, a basket auction, a 50/50 raffle, a live auction, door prizes, and a wine tasting from Long Cliff Winery.

Basket and auction items include art supplies, wine, car detailing from Northtown Auto, an overnight stay at Sunny's Roost Bed and Breakfast, a pet basket, and much more.

Following the preview hour, Marlin Fine Auctions will auction off more than 100 pieces of art in all media and price ranges. Artists represented in previous years included Chagall, Dali, Picasso, Rockwell, Tarkay and Warhol.

Proceeds from the event will benefit both agencies and their many programs. Donations and sponsorship opportunities are still available and greatly appreciated. Current sponsors for this year's auction include Brooms by Karen Koch, Blackwinds Pet Supplies, Niagara County Community College and the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. Any contribution made will be recognized in the event program and can be considered tax deductible.
