This year, a new chapter was be written in sports history as the Buffalo Bisons began a new affiliation with the Toronto Blue Jays. WNED-TV is taking a special look inside this binational partnership in "A New Season for the Bisons and Blue Jays," airing Sunday, May 26, at 10:30 p.m. The program will be rebroadcast on Wednesday, May 29, at 8 p.m., and Friday, May 31, at 1 a.m.

Last fall, the teams signed a two-year contract making the Bisons the Triple-A farm team of the Blue Jays. The closeness of the two cities creates new opportunities for both teams and baseball fans in this binational region.

"Western New York and Southern Ontario are becoming more connected and important to one another every single day," said Donald K. Boswell, WNED ǀ WBFO president and CEO. "Now our communities are fortunate enough to be tied even closer in the sports realm."

This half-hour, WNED-TV production explores the new affiliation, how it will impact both teams and what fans can expect in the season ahead. Viewers will watch in-depth interviews with key Bisons and Blue Jays officials and scenes shot at Coca-Cola Field and the Rogers Centre.

Rich Products, The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Buffalo and D'Youville College provided sponsorship for "A New Season for the Bisons and Blue Jays".
